Our Story
Second Opinion Communications, Inc. (SOCi) was established in March 2001 by Gregory Dahl. Greg is a Marine Corps veteran with 32 years of experience in the broadcast industry. He is a member of both the Society of Broadcast Engineers and the Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer, as well as a planning committee member for the Broadcasters Clinic in Madison, WI. Prior to starting his own business, Greg held positions as the Chief Engineer and the Director of Engineering, overseeing 39 radio stations. At one point, while under the SOCi company, Greg was a Contracted Director of Engineering for 3 radio groups at one time, totaling 63 radio stations.
The scope of SOCi’s services range from the antenna to the studio. As a full-service integrator it is our mission to ensure that the hardware and software work together no matter if it is AM, FM, or streaming. We offer facility evaluation & due diligence services, remote technical service & support, commissioning & training services, pre-construction products (on-site evaluation, detail design, equipment consideration), drone inspection services, and equipment repair. We have experience in the European and Central American/Caribbean markets, as well as an extensive work history across the continental United States.
Second Opinion Communications, Inc. provides highly qualified personnel, with a knowledge base of the most modern media technology. We are an Axia certified integrator and are current on AoIP and remote capabilities, among other things. SOCi is committed to providing broadcast related technical services to all types of media driven providers with a desire for high quality workmanship and proven accomplishment to the media industry. Our integration services included working directly with these broadcast media partners; The Telos Alliance, Broadcasters General Store, Broadcast Bionics, Yellowtec, Graham Studios, Broadcast Devices International, Voceware (VClock) and NotABotYet. These relationships grant efficient, direct access to insightful solutions for challenging technical problems.
